Pawon Cokelat Guesthouse
Unlike trendy Bali, Yogyakarta is much more authentic and rustic.
Therefore, Pawon Cokelat Guesthouse was quite a surprise. This stylish place is surrounded by tons of plants (which I LOVE) and is furnished with colorful retro chairs.
For 25 €/night, you get a clean and decent bedroom, and the breakfast (which is surely not the best I had during our trip) is included.
Pawon Cokelat Guesthouse is very well located, as it is only a few minutes walk away from the main street.
If you are looking for a place to stay near touristic Kuta or Seminyak, Arana Suite is the answer.
Quiet, yet trendy and well decorated, Arana Suite offers Deluxe rooms for about 30 €/night.
The staff is adorable, and the services are great (swimming pool, spa, room service, laundry, rental of scooters).
Bali Mountain Retreat
Located in the central Bali mountains, Bali Mountain Retreat is a unique experience.
You can either get lost in the abondant jungle nearby, walk through the rice fields, or stroll to the local village. Or you can simply relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape.
Bali Mountain Retreat has several types of accommodations: deluxe, superior, standard and even budget, which consists of sleeping in an old rice house for only 20 €/night! Totally worth the try!
Not to mention that they only use natural and local products, and that the dishes are i n c r e d i b l e.
I would also recommend doing a Balinese massage in their spa, as it will certainly be the most heavenly place to do it during your trip!
– Eat –
Rayjin is most certainly the best Japanese restaurant I have ever been to.
They serve fusion Japanese cuisine adjusted to western and local taste and cook high quality raw materials treated with the teppanyaki style.
One word: p e r f e c t i o n.
The cooks and the staff also offer entertainment, by shouting out loud Japanese words.
Don’t forget to taste their cocktails; you will be mind-blown!
Café Organic Bali
Café Organic is one of the many Australian cafés you will find in Kuta.
It is all about super here: super-foods, super-smoothies, and super large portions of nutritious food.
I HAD to go to Nalu Bowls during my stay in Bali.
This smoothie bowl shack is very popular among surfers, but also tourists obviously.
They serve healthy and delicious smoothie bowls such as dragonfruit, papaya and spinach, topped with all the toppings you can imagine (chia seeds, goji berries, almonds, granola, shredded coconut, and even more fruits).
Alchemy, or paradise for raw vegans!
Located near the Blanco Museum in Ubud, Alchemy proposes a wide range of food such as nutritious smoothies, salads, raw chocolate goodies, and monthly specials.
They also hold a shop with all their products near the entrance.
Don’t worry, the portions are HUGE, which will definitely leave you full.
I stumbled upon this original café in Canggu called Nude.
What I liked most about Nude was the peaceful view on the rice fields, which gave a relaxing atmosphere to the place.
The breakfast includes pancakes, avo toasts, smoothie bowls, … and for lunch, I would definitely recommend their black bun burger or their mouthwatering salads. Yum!
Located on the secret “Bingin Beach”, Kelly’s Warung is the perfect place to grab a milkshake along with a wrap, and chill all the afternoon.
Difficult to find a non-touristic place in Gili Trawangan. Therefore, when I discovered this hidden café, I was delighted!
Pituq Café is a vegetarian restaurant (vegan and gluten-free options available) and has a very relaxed atmosphere; everybody is seated barefoot at its table.
There is a large variety of choices on the menu and Pituq Café also proposes daily suggestions. Their wraps are a MUST.
Pachamama – or the goddess of the earth in the Inca culture – is a cute little organic café in Gili Air.
The place opens quite late (10 am) which is quite surprising as it mainly serves breakfasts and brunches.
But this is certainly the only “negative” point! In fact, Pachamama serves the BEST smoothies of the Island. They are mostly made with frozen bananas, which gives a nice texture and which is so refreshing!
Also, superfoods such as chia seeds, goji berries, and spirulina can be added to any meal.
I found the local “Nalu Bowls” of Gili Air. Except that at Gili Bliss, they don’t hesitate with the portions!
Gili Bliss’ smoothies and bowls are HUGE but SO TASTY.
Everything on their menu is absolutely mouthwatering; you can’t even decide what to order.
From a stack of pancakes to avocado toasts, the choices are almost endless.
